Terms of service

Last updated: 2026-08-20

1. The service

iAskLocal operates an online marketplace connecting customers with independent local guides and business consultants in China. Guides provide online consulting and guidance services as described in each booking.

2. Bookings and payment

A booking is confirmed after payment is received. The platform holds the payment and releases it to the guide after the service is delivered, subject to our refund and dispute rules.

3. Guide independence

Guides are independent service providers, not employees of iAskLocal. Guides are responsible for the accuracy of their profile information and the quality of the service they provide.

4. Customer responsibilities

Customers must provide accurate information, attend scheduled sessions, and communicate changes as early as possible. Customers are responsible for their own visa, travel, insurance, and safety decisions.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the platform, attempt to bypass platform payments, harass guides or customers, or use the service for unlawful purposes.

6. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, iAskLocal is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the affected booking.

7. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
